The Makers Market is a not for profit association supporting and showcasing the diversity and excellence of local artists and craftspeople.
Makers Market offers something for everyone, man, women or child.
Artworks include; painting, photography, textiles, print, wood, ceramic, jewellery, clothing, sculpture, paper, accessories, toys and more. As well as the artists exhibiting beautiful work there are demonstrations where you can learn the working processes of how it is done.
The market is indoors on the ground floor of the main Convent building at the Abbotsford Convent and entry to the market is free. The Convent is an exciting new arts precinct situated by the Yarra and the Collingwood Children's Farm in the heart of Melbourne. Surrounded by beautiful gardens the Convent's historic buildings are full of studios, galleries, meeting and workshop spaces plus a choice of excellent eating places.
Ample parking is available across the road for a small fee of $4.00 (gold coins are preferable) monies from this helps support the continuing restoration of the Convent's many buildings.
